BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery)

Introduction:
 A professional degree in dentistry is called the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
  •  Its goal is to give students the abilities and information required to identify, stop, and treat oral and dental   illnesses.
  •  Usually lasting four to five years, the program combines theoretical and practical instruction.
  •  After a year, students are required to complete an internship, or home work, to gain real-world experience.



 

Its a very respectable and highly paid profession in Pakistan as well as other countries 

 SCOPE:            

The increasing recognition of oral health in Pakistan has led to a vast and promising possibility for BDS. Graduates can choose from a variety of job pathways, such as:

Clinical practice: refers to general dentistry or specialty dentistry work at clinics, hospitals, or private practices.
Academic Roles: Teaching posts at universities and dentistry colleges.
Opportunities for dental study and development are available.
Public health: Positions pertaining to community dental health in government & non-governmental organizations.
Subsequent Specialization: Pursuing graduate work in periodontology, orthodontics, oral surgery, etc.
